Not the brightest of the bunch…

I’ve made it no secret… Daemon is not the smartest of dogs. But he is so sweet and caring, he can be an inspiration to us all.

Today he gave me the inspiration for a new SL product… doggie breathmints. Coming soon.

Trapped!

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

My friends took me to this ancient castle. It was wonderfully constructed, and I was amazed by the beautiful antique furniture. The tables, chairs, desks and cabinets were all exquisitely designed, fully functional, and artfully decorated.

Then these same friends took me down a dark passageway that led to a tunnel underground. As they sprinted off ahead of me, I was suddenly trapped by iron bars, blocking my way. I turned to run, and found the retreat path blocked the same. As I marvelled at how I fell into this predicament, I wondered how it was that my friends managed to escape, yet I was captured. I concluded it was the timing of the thing, and that I was snared as maybe whatever mechanism that they must have triggered had been delayed by age, rust, or lag.

Moments later, I contemplated what would happen next. Would the doors open, allowing my escape? Would the dungeon guards come to whisk me away? Should I arm myself? Were Darth Vader and his imperial troopers coming to arrest me?

Before I could decide what my next move was, the bars retracted and I was released. As I gratefully sprang from my brief sentence, I relaxed as I caught up with my friends.

Then, I saw the levers on the wall. What do they do? Oh, of course! They released me by pulling the levers! How joyous to know that my friends came to my rescue!

Then I realized that it was the same lever that sprang the trap.

Well. It could have been worse.  Look what lever #2 revealed:

And then, I woke up. It was all a dream. I was safe and sound in bed.

Wait a minute. Where am I? Why is everyone looking at me like that? What were you plotting while I was asleep?

Littles

From the children’s menu… Diddi contemplates the nutritional value of a value priced hamburger.

A miniature stormtrooper sneaks up on Rosanna and a German Shepherd. This might not turn out well.

Your seat cushion can be used as a flotation device

When you live on an island, there have to be boats. Sometimes you see an old schooner shipwrecked offshore. Sometimes the natives use canoes to travel back and forth to the neighboring islands to hunt or fish or walk their dogs. And, occasionally, some rich, fashionable, European lady shows up in a windjammer.

Diddi took us for a ride in her new boat. It was a fun trip for all. We got to tour the island coast in style. (No dropping beach balls this time, I swear. OK, maybe one.)

The wind blowing through Blu’s hair as she takes her place at the yardarm.

I wish I had more pictures of the day. We got kinda hung up at the sim crossing near the end of the trip, and I didn’t get a whole lot of good shots.

Diddi safely back on shore. Thanks for the ride!

How wonderful…

… to be alive!

You need models? I know where to find them

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

The folks over at Solar Eyewear really have their act together. Showcasing a talented attention to detail, their sunglasses demonstrate elegance in simplicity. Supplying a HUD to position and change tint and color, their products are one of the classiest in SL.

Blu, Sandry, and I  spent quite a time (and quite a coin, in spite of their modest prices) trying out and purchasing some of the best of their line-up.  Later on, word spread to Diddi and Solcar, and Solar received another visit.

Compliments aside, if they ever decide to look for new models, I have some suggestions:

Now if we could just get that dragon away for 5 seconds…

Here there be dragon

Binky the dragon tried to eat Sandry.

The nearby dogs just curled up and played possum.

Nearly swallowed her in one bite!

Canoe Race

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

After a heated competition… uhm… Okay, I didn’t see who won. I thought we were in the lead for a while, but I was too busy rezzing beachballs at Sandry’s canoe to see who was ahead at the finish line.  Maybe Solcar turned us around to give everyone else a chance. Does anybody remember who won?

Insane Drivers

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

I should have let Sandry steal the old clunker. I mean, it was a great car and in mint shape, but at least it would have kept things at more reasonable pace. Learning to drive a left-hand drive car in a 85 horsepower behemoth would have been much safer.

Instead, Diddi got her this hell-on-wheels Italian thing that can go airborne in a heartbeat and fly across the sim in about a second and a half. I made the mistake of letting her take me for a spin.

If you think the worst thing that can happen in a moment of panic is loss of your bodily functions, you are wrong. She hit the gas so damn hard that Lucifer’s Bugatti slammed out from under me, hammering me through the back end in a cloud of burnt rubber, and leaving my hair and glasses in a molten pile in the passenger seat.

In this instant, came a moment of epiphany, as I now have a much more complete understanding and appreciation for the precision in the wording of a certain charter.

For now, I’m sticking with a safer (and charter approved) form of transportation.  Just make sure you look both ways before crossing the street.

Averting a Thief

Sandry was going to steal this beautiful car. I tried to stop her. I soon realized I hadn’t needed to bother – she thought the steering wheel was on the other side.
